This device is used to allow communications with modules that would otherwise not be within reach of the other modules. These are used for various reasons:
- near buildings (main sugar bush or pumping stations) to help compensate for loss of signal strength due to obstructions (metal sheet, equipment, etc.)
- to reach isolated modules or when long range is required
- at strategic locations such as the top of a silo to achieve very long range (several km are often possible)
- to augment the robustness and efficiency of your network by augmenting the number of paths available in your network
In general, it is recommended to plan one repeater for each building instrumented. Additional repeaters might be required depending on the topology of your forests, the type and density of wood. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need advise on your specific situation.
